भामिनीविलासः-३१
यथा लतायाः स्तबकानतायाः स्तनावनम्रे नितरां समासि ।
तथा लता पल्लविनी सगर्वे शोणाधरायाः सदृशी तवापि ॥ १०७ ॥
अन्वयः : स्तनावनम्रे! यथा स्तबक-आनतायाः लतायाः नितरां समा
असि, तथा, सगर्वे!, पल्लविनी लता अपि शोण-अधरायाः तव सदृशी ।
Lady bent low with the weight of breasts! Just as you are
very much equal to the creeper which is bent low due to the weight of clusters
of flowers, proud lady! the creeper with new shoots is similar to you whose
lips are red. [Red lips are like new shoots and breasts are like clusters of
flowers of the creeper.]
इदं लताभिः स्तबकानताभिः मनोहरं हन्त वनान्तरालम् ।
सदैव सेव्यं स्तनभारवत्यो न चेद्युवत्यो हृदयं हरेयुः ॥ १०८
॥
अन्वयः : स्तनभारवत्यः युवत्यः हृदयं न हरेयुः चेत्,
स्तबकानताभिः लताभिः मनोहरम् इदं वनान्तरालं सदा एव सेव्यं (भवेत्) ।
Had it not been that young women with heavy breasts steal
(our) hearts, this forest area charming with creepers bent low by the
flower-clusters would have been enjoyable all the time. [The creepers bent low
with flower clusters remind the poet of young women who steal hearts.]
सा मदागमनबृंहिततोषा जागरेण गमिताखिलदोषा ।
बोधितापि बुबुधे मधुपैर्न प्रातराननसौरभलुब्धैः ॥ १०९ ॥
अन्वयः : मद्-आगमन-बृंहित-तोषा सा
जागरेण गमित-अखिल-दोषा आनन-सौरभ-लुब्धैः मधुपैः बोधिता अपि न बुबुधे ।
The lady whose joy expanded with my arrival and by
staying awake (with me) whose faults were gone, did not wake up in the morning
even by the (sound) of bumble bees which were buzzing around her face attracted
by the fragrance of her face. [The lady slept soundly after having had a
pleasant time with her lover.]
अविचिन्त्यशक्तिविभवेन सुन्दरि प्रथितस्य शंबररिपोः
प्रभावतः ।
विधुभावमञ्चतितमां तवाननं नयने सरोजदलनिर्विशेषताम् ॥ ११० ॥
अन्वयः : सुन्दरि! अविचिन्त्यशक्तिविभवेन प्रथितस्य
शंबररिपोः प्रभावतः तव आननं विधुभावम् अञ्चतितमाम् ; तव नयने सरोजदलनिर्विशेषताम्
(अञ्चतितमाम् )।
Charming lady! Because of the might of Cupid who is known
for his unimaginable power, your face has remarkably assumed the shape of moon
and your eyes have attained identity with the petals of lotus. [You could
interpret that youth of the lady or the love-struck nature of the beholder or
both were responsible for such an effect.]
मीनवती नयनाभ्यां करचरणाभ्यां प्रफुल्लकमलवती ।
शैवलिनी च केशैः सुरसेयं सुन्दरी सरसी ॥ १११ ॥
अन्वयः : इयं सुरसा सुन्दरी नयनाभ्यां मीनवती, करचरणाभ्यां
प्रफुल्लकमलवती, केशैः शैवलिनी, सरसी ।
This beautiful lady full of vivacity having fish-like
eyes, having hands and feet like blossomed lotuses and her hair like a rivulet
is indeed (resembling) a lake.
पान्थ मन्दमते किं वा सन्तापमनुविन्दसि ।
पयोधरं समाशास्व येन शान्तिमवाप्नुयाः ॥ ११२ ॥
अन्वयः : मन्दमते पान्थ!
सन्तापं किं वा अनुविन्दसि? पयोधरं समाशास्व येन शान्तिम् अवाप्नुयाः ।
Dull headed traveler! Why do you suffer heat (grief)?
Seek the cloud (breast) by which you can get solace. [The poet plays on words सन्ताप
and पयोधर.]
सम्पश्यतां तामतिमात्रतन्वीं शोभाभिराभासितसर्वलोकाम् ।
सौदामिनी वा सितयामिनी वेत्येवं जनानां हृदि संशयोऽभूत् ॥
११३ ॥
अन्वयः : शोभाभिः आभासितसर्वलोकाम् अतिमात्रतन्वीं
सम्पश्यतां जनानां हृदि (इयं) सौदामिनी वा सित-यामिनी वा इति एवं संशयः अभूत् ।
Looking at this very slender lady whose radiance had lit
up all around, there was a doubt in the minds of men whether she was a
lightning or a white (moon-lit) night.
सपल्लवा किं नु विभाति वल्लरी सफुल्लपद्मा किमियं तु
पद्मिनी ।
समुल्लसत्पाणिपदां स्मिताननामितीक्षमाणैः समलम्भि संशयः ॥
११४ ॥
अन्वयः : इयं सपल्लवा वल्लरी किं नु विभाति, (उत)
सफुल्लपद्मा पद्मिनी किम् इति संशयः समुल्लसत्-पाणि-पदां स्मिताननाम् ईक्षमाणैः
समलम्भि ।
Those who looked at her who had a smiling face and
playful hands and feet doubted whether she was a creeper with sprouts or a
lotus plant with fully open petals.
